The movie begins in 1977, in the Magnolia. Young Tanuk approaches his father (Big Slugger) who is shooting dice with some other men. He tells his father that his mother wants him home and to stop gambling away the welfare check. His father tells him that he is going to come home with "plenty plenty paper". He gives Tanuk twenty dollars to get some ice cream. As Tanuk walks away, a car approaches. Garr (Mykel Shannon Jenkins) exits the car and walks up to Big Slugger. He pushes Slugger against the wall and asks where his money is at. Big Slugger tells him that he doesn't have it and he needs more time. Angry that he doesn't have the money, Garr shoots Big Slugger in the head right in front of Tanuk. Garr turns around and walks back to his car, pushing Tanuk out of the way. The cold-blooded murder leaves up Tanuk "cold and heartless to this day".
The movie fast-forwards to Magnolia in the year 2000. Tanuk (played by Juvenile), Beatrice, Iceberg Shorty and Chopper show up to make a deal, where we are introduced to Carlos, the supplier of the gang's drugs. The next scene opens with a group of gang members stomping a man on the ground. When the call comes out to "shoot that bitch", Tekie pulls out a pistol and aims at the man. A group of squad cars, led by Curlyhead, pulls up and the thugs scatter in separate directions with cops chasing after each of them. Curlyhead, on the other hand, walks up to the man on the ground. After asking if the gang knows if he is working for the police and the man saying no, he shoots the man in the head.
Meanwhile, the police are still chasing Tanuk. As he attempts, in vain, to outrun the faster and better armed officers, a noble police officer steps in to take control. Wresting Tanuk from the corrupt officer's clutches, the noble officer takes Tanuk under his wing and urges him to turn his life around. Tanuk will have none of this sage and fatherly advice, however, and leaves the squad car and returns to the "game".
The film then cuts to a scene of the gang "sittin' on dey stoop". A female ghetto dweller approaches them and begins to complain of a lack of financial support from her baby daddy. Assorted gang members then commiserate with the baby daddy about the unreasonable nature of the hood rat's demands.
We soon learn that the gang is planning a major drug deal in the near future. First, however, they throw a large party "...to make sure that if any one of [them] left or didn't make it, [they] would live it up before it happened." [1]
To the gang's dismay, Garr shows up to the party with an Uzi submachine gun, supplied by Reese. He proceeds to fire 9x19mm Parabellum rounds indiscriminately into the party. Several strippers are killed, but Tunak's crew emerges unharmed and returns fire. By this time, however, Garr has fled the scene and the police arrive to arrest Tunak and his gun wielding buddies.
The movie ends with them running down the street holding their pants up, middle fingers to the law. Although there seems to be no conceivable escape route since they are completely surrounded by police on foot, in cars, and in helicopters, the words "To Be Continued..." appear at the end. We can only hope there will be a Baller Blockin 2
