Fergie must have never heard the old adage about not repeating the same fashion — because she’s set to perform at Condι Nast’s Fashion Rocks for the third year running this fall.

Fergie Ferg won’t be the only repeat offender. The Black Eyed Peas, who joined her on one song two years ago, will also headline along with Beyoncι, who headlined in 2006 too.

Also coming back to the Fashion Rocks stage are Mariah Carey (who headlined in 2005) and Rihanna (who performed with Elton John in 2006). But this year’s show will have some new energy from the likes of Justin Timberlake, Duffy, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne for the event’s fifth anniversary. Keith Urban and Kid Rock are also on the bill.

The concert will take place September 5 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall and will be taped as a two-hour program to air four nights later, September 9, on CBS. Proceeds from the event will benefit Stand Up to Cancer.

Lil Wayne Remains King Of The Billboard | 1 Comments

For a third non-consecutive week, Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" (Cash Money/Universal) tops The Billboard 200. The set moved 125,000 copies during the tracking week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 20% drop in sales from the week previous.

Coldplay's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (Capitol) sits tight at No. 2 for a second week with 113,000 (-25%) while the Jonas Brothers-led soundtrack to Disney's "Camp Rock" keeps the No. 3 spot warm with 88,000 (-23%).

Arriving at No. 4, Beck's "Modern Guilt" (Interscope) debuts with 84,000. His previous set, 2006's "The Information," bowed at No. 7 but sold 99,000.

Kid Rock's "Rock N Roll Jesus" (Atlantic) continues to resurge with the help of the Hot AC/Adult Top 40 single "All Summer Long," climbing 7-5 with 61,000 (+34%). The multi-label "Now 28" compilation stays at No. 6 with a 17% decrease to 48,000.

The Decca soundtrack to "Mamma Mia!," the film adaptation of the hit theatrical musical based on ABBA's songbook, debuts at No. 7 on The Billboard 200 with 48,000. The film hits theaters in the U.S. on Friday, so there's a good chance the album could see a sizable gain on next week's chart.

Ozone Magazine announced nominees for the 3rd Annual Ozone Awards this week. Lil Wayne who is currently atop the Billboard charts picked up eight nominations while R&B singer Chris Brown picked up a leading two nominations.

The 3rd Annual Ozone Awards, hosted by actor/comedian DeRay Davis will be held August 11th in Houston, Texas honoring the best in Hip Hop and R&B.

Topping the list of nominees for this year's award ceremony is Lil Wayne, with 8 nominations in more than 5 categories including TJ's DJ's Hustler Award, Club Banger of the Year and Best Lyricist.

There are conflicting reports coming from all over that Lil Wayne was arrested last night. None of these have been confirmed but with so many sources involved, one has to be curious as to what happened.

One of the sources (Uptown Media) claims that Wayne was arrested on one count of second degree aggravated assault, one count of disturbing the peace and two counts of possession of a firearm. Alleged eyewitnesses say the incident occurred at Club Dream in New Orleans where Weezy got into a physical altercation with a local artist by the name of Lil Dee.

“The two exchanged words and Lil’ Wayne got out of his lounge chair and started to proceed out of VIP. The eyewitness then states that Lil’ Dee grappled Lil’ Wayne’s arm and turned him around,” the source reveals. “Lil’ Wayne’s bodyguard then attempted to stop the young man, but the eyewitness says that Lil’ Wayne just laughed and said quote unquote, ‘What you gonna do to me uhhhhh Im the fucking man of this city!’ Thats when Lil’ Wayne pushed Lil’ Dee and attempted to leave VIP again. The eyewitness then stated that Lil’ Dee grabbed Lil’ Wayne once more and without a moments hesitation punched him in the face. Lil’ Wayne was knocked down and everyone in the section went crazy.”

Cops allegedly were called in and arrested both men for aggravated assault and disturbing the peace. Wayne was found with two unregistered handguns and was immediately handcuffed and taken to jail. A mugshot has been floating around the internet but it is unclear if this is an older mugshot taken from a previous arrest.

What makes the story even more hazy is that another source has said that the incident happened in Austin TX and not New Orleans.

A representative at Universal was unsure if anything transpired at press time and there has been no comments as of yet from Wayne’s camp.
